life at home as a mother of 2

is different, definitely different.

(this is the first time emmy met dane, she wasn't sure at first but very soon after loved it all. especially her new favorite stuffed animal that dane brought her. in my defense, this picture was taken after over 34 hours of no sleep and surgery. not my finest moment)

the moms are gone, baker is back at work working longer hours then ever, and as you can tell from the lack of posting.. i don't have too much extra time on my hands these days.

danes face above clearly shows how he has felt the last three weeks about his entrance into this world. his nickname around here is "grumpy gus". unless he is nursing or sleeping, he rather wouldn't be doing it. grumpy or not, i don't remember my life without him. our family was obviously waiting for him because the second he got here, it all worked. he is perfect for us.

my biggest worry was em. the first day or so at home she struggled a bit, but since then has fallen head over heels for her little brother. all day she is constantly covering him with his blankey, trying to console him when he cries, wants to sit next to him when he eats, and asks to hold him at least 5 times a day. before he was here i would walk into her room when she woke up to the cutest "hi mom", but now walk in to her asking for "daaaane".

i absolutely love the sibling love i am seeing from the two of them. it makes all the sleepless nights and hourly diaper changes between the two of them worth it. i may not get out as much as i did before, but spending my days with the two of them is heaven on earth for me.

my life gets better everyday.

I can't believe it! Emmy is growing so fast and probably already looks different! Cutest brother and sister. I can't wait for my turn to be a mom.

You look amazaing even with no sleep and major surgery. It makes me feel better to know other's feel overwhelmed at times too. I think two little ones is HARD. You're right...they are wonderful but it's tough too. You're doing a great job! Keep it up!
